Shelley Hansen - Lady of Lines

A Twist in the Tale!

The good old yarn has always been part of Australian bush poetry. You know, the kind of story told in country pubs by old timers who will vouch for the fact that they were there when the Spider on the Gwydir bit the spieler's sheila, they cheered louder than anyone at the last match of the Geebung Polo Club, and they are still wet from being splashed when Mulga Bill's Bicycle ended up in the drink!

For well over a century the greatest poets in this country have delighted us with their playful departures from serious verse ... and it is to them that I dedicate this growing collection of my own "true blue" yarns.
